Chalepa is a quiet, beautiful and historic suburb of Chania. It is located in the eastern part of the city and was the area with the wealthiest inhabitants (mostly merchants); it has also become the center of many diplomatic activities in Crete. The climate is generally warm and dry, both in winter and summer. In Chalepa there is the Tabakaria quarter with some former leather processing factories that were built in the middle of the 19th century. Nearby is the house-museum of Eleftherios Venizelos, considered the greatest politician of modern Greece. The archaeological museum is only 400 meters from the apartment. The sea for swimming is only 3 minutes walk from the apartment, the center 20'.
