Hi, we are a family of 4, my husband and two boys (ages 16 and 8). We grew up in mulicutural environment and enjoy being surrounded by people of all ethnicities. We are of Haitian origin and speak both French and Creole. Our house is located in Valley Stream Long Island, which is in a quiet suburb of New York. We have a very comfortable guest bedroom located in our finished basement for use. There is a seperate side entrance to the basement so he/she can come in and out of the house at their leisure. We also have a newly renovated backyard deck for those nice, warm, sunny days. We are approximately 30 minutes from Manhattan (by train) which is centrally located within walking distance. Our sons recently became very interested in helping me host, as our friend recently had an exchange student for a year and explained what a valuable experience this was for her and her family. I am hoping that this person could have a nice stay at our home and share their culture with us.
