We are located in the center of Kathmandu with most of the UNESCO Heritage sites and tourist center of Thamel in walking distance. My house is still off the main road with relatives and extended families living around. That makes it a safe, less noisy and welcoming place with more chances of cultural immersion and knowing the Nepalese family life. I live with my 6 years old daughter Anna' father in law and husband who runs a tour company 'iTourNepal.com P Ltd.' I run a preschool in the neighborhood with my other two women partners. So we definitely have lots of stories to share and activities to involve you. The house is a 12 years old concrete building with a red brick front. Our neighborhood and the house stood strong during the April 2015 earthquake. Even though I have a small yard, there are plenty of trees and flowers. We have adopted an eco-friendly lifestyle. So we use less plastics and compost biodegradable waste. I use the manure to grow vegetables on the rooftop. We have got solar heated water and for back up lights. We filter rain water and harvest it. We just have 3 rooms allocated for homestay guests. But we are expanding to the neighborhood as a community homestay. I believe in enforcing an eco-friendly lifestyle through tourism. All rooms have a kitchenette and attached bathroom. Homestay guests can join us in the kitchen and learn to make Nepalese cuisine.
