SHARED & PRIVATE LIVING OPTIONS AVAILABLE SHARED LIVING (upper floor): 2 furnished rooms for rent on our upper floor with private washroom. Common space shared with host. PRIVATE LIVING (1000SF 2-BED SUITE): 2 furnished rooms for rent on our lower level, in a fully private and newly renovated 1000SF suite w/kitchen (stainless appliances), dining, living, in-suite laundry, private entry. Host does not utilize or access this space. ABOUT THE HOST: We are a young couple, currently with no children, but a small and friendly fur baby, Pearl. We have been hosting students for 6 years and enjoy the company, cultures, and relationships we make and maintain even beyond the stay! We are active, working professionals, with flexible schedules. NEIGHBORHOOD & AMENITIES: We live in an active, quiet and safe neighborhood on Capital Hill in North Burnaby with the top rated views in the entire lower mainland. - 10 minutes to SFU, 10 mins to BCIT, 25-30mins to downtown Vancouver (catch the R5 two blocks down street - 2 min. walk), and a 5 min walk to Confederation Park & Community Centre with a new and modern library, indoor pool & fitness, track & fields, tennis, ping pong, picnic areas and more (see photo gallery). Included in all homestay bookings: - bed, fresh linens - desk, lamp - bedside table - closet w/organizer - clothes dresser - Wifi - private bathroom (upper level rooms) - tub/shower w/modern fixtures and finishes - weekly laundry service - meals (contact landlord for plans and pricing) - $500 refundable deposit required for longer than 1 month bookings.

Overall an enjoyable and quality homestay experience. Host was welcoming, accommodating, and has created a very positive and enjoyable environment for guests from all over the world. My housemates were friendly and the rooms and common space was perfect in providing both privacy and quiet for some alone time, and a place to interact for those wanting to chat and hang out at the table. The neighborhood is beautiful, amazing views, safe and clean with a huge park and community centre with a pool, gym, outdoor tennis track, picnic area etc. motivates you to exercise in the fresh air! The host is very generous with her space and supplies — Laundry detergent, cleaners, bathroom tissue, and meals, were ALL INCLUDED (a higher rent option I do not regret). I was SO happy to find a place that provided these as, I began my stay in Canada in a simple room share (no meals, shared paid laundry). I lived off rice and ground beef and still spent min $600++ a month at the grocery store, plus laundry costs, etc. It’s SO expensive to live and pay for these items in Canada! Best meals I’ve ever had at a homestay. Well balanced, healthy, quality ingredients and very tasty. Rebecca is a great cook and baker — sweets/dessert almost every day. House is new, modern, very clean, well equipped with everything you need. I was welcomed with fresh linens, a welcome gift — nice touch! A “no rules” system was in place — everyone was to use their best discretion and not disrupt others or abuse privileges and lose them. No one wants to ruin it for the others, so it works! Made for a more relaxing environment compared to most places that put restrictions on everything. This homestay exceeded my expectations. I catch the bus 2 blocks down street that gets me downtown in 35 mins. Highly recommend. If you’re looking for a clean, quality and fun lifestyle and experience in Canada, this is where you want to stay.

I had a truly wonderful experience staying with this host family. From the beginning, they were incredibly kind and warm, which really helped me feel at ease. Although I was nervous at first, they created such a comfortable and friendly atmosphere that I quickly felt at home and was able to have natural conversations with them. One of the biggest reasons I would recommend this homestay is the house itself. It was clean, beautifully maintained, and made my stay very comfortable. Our room was spacious with plenty of storage, so unpacking and settling in was easy. The meals were always thoughtful and delicious. I really appreciated how they considered our food preferences and dietary needs. And the desserts after dinner? I still miss them! I’m very thankful for this experience and would highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming place to stay.
