INTERNATIONAL guests visiting Chicago for internships, clerkships, USMLE, language studies, and university studies enjoy their stay in our fully furnished guest flat. ACCOMMODATIONS You will enjoy living in LINCOLN SQUARE, one of Chicago's safest and most family-friendly neighborhoods. Accommodations include: - two fully furnished single occupancy bedrooms, - an eat-in kitchen where guests prepare food (no meals provided), - a very clean bathroom for guests to share, - Wi-Fi, - laundry room, - an exterior sun porch overlooking the garden, - a private entrance. While the hosts are available when needed, guests live independently. KITCHEN The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooktop, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dining table, cooking equipment and crockery. Several grocers and specialty food stores are located nearby (7 to 15 minute walk). LINEN SERVICE Clean bed linens and towels are provided upon request. LAUNDRY On site washer and dryer are available. $3.00 per WASH (laundry detergent included) $2.00 per DRY (dryer sheet included) ADDITIONAL FEES The only additional fee is a cleaning fee paid prior to checkout: $60 for short stay (1-2 month) $100 for long stay (3 months or longer) CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY - CTA We are within a 10-minute walk from the CTA Brown Line Rockwell and Western Avenue Stations, which makes getting around the city very easy. Free parking is available on our street. Divvy Bike Stations are also nearby and provide a fun and affordable way to explore Chicago. LINCOLN SQUARE Lincoln Square is a fun place to live with its weekly farmer's market, music festivals, restaurants, cafe's, and specialty stores. Annual events like the Summer Concert Series, Chicago Folk & Roots music festival; the German-American Fest, Apple Fest and the Christkindl Market draw crowds of people from all over. ABOUT US We have been providing accommodations for international students since 2012 and enjoy meeting people from all parts of the world. We have extensive international work experience, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa. We have also traveled to the Horn of Africa, Syria, Israel, Palestine, Mongolia, Mexico, Paraguay and the EU. During times of leisure, we enjoy gardening, printmaking, writing, reading, and hosting small gatherings.

Karen and Michael are amazing. They are so kind and have open minds. They treated me like family. They taught me tips on staying Chicago. And Karen made delicious American style meals everyday. House is also great. It's located in safety area and easy to access to western station of blown line. There are many shops and restaurants. I really enjoyed staying their home. I'm sure this experience is the best memory on this trip:) Thank you.

Michael and Karen made us feel like Home. Great hosts, room as expected and nice area. Close by to a train station and easy to reach the downtown area. You also have the extra option to have dinner at their place and we enjoyed much the evening conversations with them. Karen was very helpful and caring, just like a mother (Thank you!). We will miss both of them and plan to come back! Sofía and Carolina. Spain.

Karen was wonderful. When I arrived she took me around the neighborhood pointing out where the L train station, restaurants and stores were located. She helped me get a SIM card for my phone. The room was very comfortable. This was my first homestay experience and I loved it! Thanks, Karen.

Pardon, j'écris en Français et je suis en retard en répondant maintenant seulement. Mais je veux dire que j'ai été très bien accueillie. Michael et Karen sont charmants. J'ai découvert plein de choses avec eux. Leur maison est très jolie, la chambre très confortable, c'est facile d'aller vers le centre de Chicago avec un train. Ce n'est pas au centre, mais on découvre beaucoup de choses. Tout est à la fois pratique et sympathique! Oui, 5 coeurs.
