Our home is located in the suburbs, approximately 8 kilometers north of the central Kyoto. Situated in a quiet residential neighborhood on the mountainside, it offers a splendid view of the city and Mt. Hiei right in front from the elevated location. The renowned UNESCO World Heritage site, "Kamigamo Shrine," is also nearby. The nearest subway station is Kitayama St., which is about a 14-minute ride from Kyoto Station, followed by a short taxi ride of less than 10 minutes or an 8-minute walk from the Kyoto City Bus terminal, "Nishigamo Shako-mae." It provides you a comfortable and spacious living environment, also ideal for both work and study. We hope you can enjoy a relaxed stay in our welcoming home.

Kanako so generously and graciously opened up her beautiful, cozy home for me to stay during my trip to Kyoto. It was a unique, authentic experience of living in a Japanese home that I'll never forget. The room is so comfortable and the whole house is very tastefully designed. Kanako is very kind, thoughtful, and open-hearted! I am so grateful for this opportunity.

I can only underline the words of praise from my predecessors. The nearby Shodenji Temple is a prime example of the principle of the borrowed landscape, called "shakkei" in Japanese: the view from inside the temple frames Mount Hiei as part of the garden. But even in Kanako's house at the top of the hill, you have this magnificent view from the dining table every day out of the window that frames Mount Hiei and the area around Kamigamo Shrine. No meals are provided at this accommodation, but guests can use their own kitchen, which is perfectly equipped with everything you could want for cooking. It takes about 1 hour to get to the city center by bike or bus and subway, but the relatively long way is definitely worth it, because in Nishigamo you can enjoy absolute peace and relaxation and a spacious, clean and aesthetically very appealing accommodation with an extremely pleasant host who speaks fluent English. 1000 thanks to Kanako! I will definitely be back.

Perfect place for Kyoto lovers who come for a longer stay, want to avoid the tourist crowds and don't mind walking or cycling - Kanako is the perfect host, always there when you need her but very respectful of your privacy; she graciously offers her guests the use of her spacious living room and kitchen with the breath-taking views on Mt Hiei and all of Kyoto The house is located in a quiet residential area called Nishigamo about five minutes walking distance to Shodenji and twentyfive minutes to Kamigamo Jinja with a bus terminal close by, perfect for exploring the Northern part of Kyoto and its outskirts; I will certainly come back! Thank you Kanako-san!

I stayed for two weeks at Kanako-san's house in the prettiest bedroom ever. She is a lovely lady who will make you feel right at home!
